Andela, a software engineering company, through its Andela Learning Community has partnered with Microsoft 4Afrika to launch the ALCwithMicrosoft Azure Training 2020.

The training looks to up-skill selected developers in Kenya and Nigeria in Azure via the LinkedIn Learning platform.

This new development is coming after Andela laid off 135 staff as a result of the reduction in demand for the company’s service.

Across the two countries, the programme seeks to engage 3000 developers in learning the basics of Azure — a public cloud computing platform created by Microsoft — for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft-managed data centres.

The learning process is said to be divided into batches of 1000 learners at a time to allow participants access to full mentorship support.

ALCwithMicrosoft is open to anyone looking to grow their Azure software development skills and excited to learn with a community of technologists.

To apply for the programme, applicants are required to be above 18 years of age, be willing to dedicate 10 – 15 hours for the length of the program, be proficient in English, and should have at least a year plus of software development experience.

Benefits

  • Developers are expected to have a proficiency for Azure technologies
  • Opportunity to be shortlisted to redeem Microsoft Azure certification exam voucher
  • Improved competency in your existing skills.

How to apply

The call for applications started on May 15 and the closing date for applications is on May 25, 2020. All interested applicants can apply now.
