THRIVE Global Impact 2025 opens $1M challenge for agritech disruptors
Applications for the THRIVE Global Impact 2025 are being accepted from innovative agri-preneurs globally. At a time when food security and climate change are major global concerns, this challenge aims to identify and fund early-stage startups using technology solutions to address food problems.
The Global Impact Challenge is centred around six major themes that are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. These themes encourage innovation to create a future for agriculture and food systems that are more resilient, sustainable, and equitable.
This year, the THRIVE Global Impact challenge is looking for ground-breaking solutions across six major themes that are transforming the agrifood industry, aiming to identify the most creative startups addressing the most pressing issue in agrifood systems:
- Animal health and nutrition: technology that improves the productivity, welfare, and health of livestock
- Artificial Intelligence & Automation: AI-powered solutions for supply chain optimisation, crop diagnostics, and farm management
- Clean energy & climate tech: climate-smart farming methods and application of renewable energy
- Post-harvest & food tech: environmentally friendly packaging, and advancement in food preservation
- Regenerative agriculture: innovation supporting the restoration of the ecosystem and sustainable farming methods
- Water & waste management: water circularity, waste management, and effective irrigation
The Thrive Global Impact 2025 submission in Silicon Valley will invite three finalists from each of the six themes.

Participants in the THRIVE Global Impact 2025 will receive:
- Two free tickets to the pre-summit, networking activities and the summit
- Exposure at the virtual pitch day to top investors, business executives
- A personalised pitch coaching session conducted by a qualified pitch coach
- A special booth during the startup showcase summit
The THRIVE Global impact challenge award and up to $ 1 million in funding from SVG Ventures will be given to the winning company.
Who can apply
To be eligible for the THRIVE Global Impact 2025, participants must:
- Be an entrepreneur or early-stage startup in the seed to series A stage
- Show that you agree with at least one of the main concepts of the challenge
- Provide concrete results or the potential to have an impact on biodiversity, carbon reduction, sustainability, or other environmental factors
- Have the willingness to attend Silicon Valley’s THRIVE Global Impact Summit

How to apply
Interested startups can apply for the THRIVE Global Impact 2025 through the official THRIVE application website on or before Sunday, May 25, 2025. The application must contain information about the founding team, the fundraising phase, proof of environmental effect, and an overview of the firm.
