EDP Renewable Energy Track 2025 wants to help energy innovators scale globally — while keeping their equity
Applications are open for the Renewable Energy Track 2025, part of EDP’s Energy Starter programme, designed for startups with creative ideas to improve the deployment of renewable energy, streamline operations, and integrate storage technologies.
Since 2016, EDP’s open innovation programme has raised over €140 million, produced over 140 pilots, 40 commercial rollouts, and 30 venture investments. With activities in Asia Pacific, North America, South America, and Europe, EDP has developed as a major multinational in the global transition to renewable energy.
For startups, this track record is more important than ever. EDP gives startups access to infrastructure, paid pilots, decision-makers, venture capital, and the possibility of worldwide rollout while preserving their own freedom, equity, and intellectual property.
Klaus Ola from Safegrid said: “The Energy Starter is a chance to study the market and test how our solution aligns with industry needs.”
