Budgetier, Unicorn and Touchabl Pictures Emerge Winners at StartupFriday, Uyo

At the recently concluded StartupFriday Uyo, an initiative organised by the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE), a subsidiary of National Information Development Agency (NITDA), 10 pre-selected Nigerian startups battled their ways to convince a panel of distinguished judges, about their innovations, for monetary rewards.

The initiative was developed to identify and support indigenous talents within the region. As such, IT enthusiasts, hub operators, industry players, stakeholders, as well as dignitaries like the Commissioner of Science and Technology, Akwa Ibom, (duly standing in for the State Governor, Udo Gabriel Emmanuel), graced the occasion with their presence.

According to Governor Udo Emmanuel, “ICT remains the best alternative to diversify Nigeria’s economy”. He also expressed their delight about the project “The choice of Akwa Ibom state by NITDA for such an important project is an attestation that NITDA, and indeed the present administration, exists to serve all Nigerians regardless of geographical locations or any challenges”.

At the event, Budgetier, Unicorn and Touchabl Pictures won  ₦300,000,  ₦200,000 and  ₦100,000 respectively.
