Join the national dialogue on taxation and development of the non-oil sectors in Nigeria
Telecommunication and Technology Sustainability Working Group (TTSWG), a multi-stakeholder network driving the sustainable growth of telecom and technology sectors in Nigeria, is set to host a national dialogue. The goal is to address the country’s economic recovery, and sustainability of organisations from a tax perspective, against the effects of the global coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic decline.
The virtual programme seeks to explore opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and progressive regulatory practices; address ways in which organisations can support the government through the post-pandemic phase; beyond tax remittances, the dwindling oil prices and global supply chain disruptions would also be explored.
Themed, “Fast-tracking Economic Recovery through Robust Tax Policies and Practices”, TTSWG has been scheduled to hold on Friday, October 9, 2020, at 10 am. The featured speakers, include; Ben Akabueze: Director-General, Budget Office, Federal Republic of Nigeria; and Muhammad Mamman Nami: Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
Other speakers are Taiwo Oyedele: Fiscal Partner and West Africa Tax Leader, PwC Nigeria; Gbenga Adebayo: Chairman, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators in Nigeria; Olusola Teniola: President, Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON); and Eno Udoma-Eniang: Head, Government & Legislative Affairs, 9mobile.
Also, organisations participating in the programme include; government agencies, ministries of finance, industry, trade, and investments; federal and state inland revenue agencies, telecommunications and technology regulators, corporate organisations and industry experts, non-governmental organisations, academia, and the general public.
