How unique is your innovative solution? ESG challenge is open for a chance to win $1million grant
In association with energy company partners, including; Chevron, Shell, and ExxonMobil among others, government agencies, and innovators, Enterprise Singapore (ESG), a company that supports small and medium enterprise development, has launched an Energy Open Innovation Challenge. The goal is to boost innovation in the global energy industry.
Local and international startups and SMEs are required to improve the energy sector by providing solutions to four key industry needs, including asset management, robotics, sustainability and workflow.

- $1 million grant, for product development per problem statement
- Four startups gets $25,000 each across all problem statements
- Opportunities to conduct a proof-of-concept with energy companies and hubs
- Secure test-bedding opportunities for suitable technologies
- Shortlisted startups/smes will have one-to-one meeting sessions with energy companies
- Opportunity to pitch solutions to energy companies’ top management during Singapore Fintech Festival and Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology 2020
- Access to a diverse pool of ecosystem partners such as accelerators, incubators, venture capital investors, and research institutes
Startups and SMEs, in the energy sector, are required to submit proof of the following:
- Business registration certificate issued within the last three months, ongoing company registration/business profile, or any trade registry and proof, ensuring the registration in the relevant country of incorporation
- Groups of Individuals regardless of country of residence, such as research teams, must have a representative, who will register on behalf of the team
- Research teams, when registering, are required to incorporate a company in Singapore should they be shortlisted to work with the energy companies and offered grant support
