Apply to partake in Facebook’s $100 million small business grant and ad credits
Facebook small business grant programme is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits to businesses especially companies that are running a cross-border business and also affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The programme will help businesses keep their workforce going strong, help with rent and operational costs, connect them with more customers and also support their community.
According to the company, up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries will be able to receive a grant from Facebook.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply, your business must:
- Have between 2 and 50 employees
- Have been in business for over a year
- Have experienced challenges due to COVID-19
- Be in or near a location where Facebook operates
However, if you are a current government official or relative of a government official, you cannot apply on behalf of your business.
Requirements for application
You’ll be required to submit your latest annual tax return or business registration (CAC document) or business licence or partnership agreement and your most recent financial statements.
Also, you will provide full financial statements or accounts for your business. At a minimum, the financial statements you provide should include a balance sheet and an income statement/profit or loss statement. A balance sheet typically includes a summary of all of your business’ assets and liabilities. But abridged financial statements or accounts will not be accepted.

Additionally, you may be asked to provide further documents at a later stage in the process.

Applications for Nigeria is open from 2 pm starting August 24, 2020, to 5 pm September 4, 2020. Interested applicants can visit the website for more information.
