The empowerment programme for entrepreneurs across Africa, Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme, is now open for application. The goal is to create at least 1million jobs and contribute over $10 billion in revenue to the African economy.

In a bid to help small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs), as well as young entrepreneurs, scale through the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic activities, the programme seeks to provide an enabling solution for a solid recovery.

Founded by Tony O. Elumelu, the Foundation launched the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme in 2015, a $100 million commitment to empower 10,000 African entrepreneurs in the next 10 years. So far, over 9,000 young African entrepreneurs across 54 African countries have been trained, mentored and funded.

Benefits

Successful applicants are entitled to the following:

  • A 12-week intensive online training
  • Access to world-class mentors
  • $5,000 seed capital among other funding access
  • Access to Tony Elumelu network of startups

Eligibility

  • The programme is open to African-based entrepreneurs
  • Applicants must be 18 years old and above
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the African country where their business is located
